Animal Samaritans: Animal Assisted Therapy : Volunteer
Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) is an all-volunteer program of Animal Samaritans SPCA, serving school children with disabilities, residents in assisted living centers and nursing homes, and patients recovering in local hospitals. In addition, their Animal Assisted Therapy (AAA) program pairs dogs with youngsters serving time at Juvenile Hall. The program offers the experience of touching, petting, playing with and experiencing the unconditional affection of a pet.

Marilyn volunteered for nearly ten years with her four dogs, three of whom were rescues. Tanya and Lucy visited residents of assisted living centers and nursing homes, and met with many children in Juvenile Hall. After Tanya and Lucy went to Heaven, Marilyn continued to volunteer with Charlie and Lola.
